An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a report that details the state of an electrical installation. It’s a structured document that’s generated after an inspection of a property’s electrical installation. The Electrical Condition Report will determine the overall health of all of the electrics and will inform you whether it is fit for continued use and will outline any necessary remedial work, graded by importance and with a recommended timeframe.

All buildings with electrical wiring should be tested routinely. The recommended frequency of EICRs varies depending on characteristics such as the use of the premises and the level of risk involved.
Domestic electrical testing and the production of an EICR is recommended every 10 years in all homes to check the quality of the electrical installation and ensure there is no degradation. A commercial EICR will be required every 12 months, but an inspection every 5 years.
